Construction Cost Calculator

Start With An Indicative
Construction Estimate.

Select a construction package and enter the planned built-up area to understand how the indicative construction estimate is calculated.

Final project cost depends on drawings, specifications, site conditions and project requirements.

How The Estimate Works

One simple calculation. A much more detailed final scope.

Indicative Construction Estimate

  • Built-up area is taken from the applicable project drawings or the planned built-up requirement.
  • The package rate will correspond to the selected SR Buildcon specification level once it is confirmed.
  • The result is an indicative construction amount only.
  • The final quotation depends on the actual project scope and site conditions.

The Calculator

Estimate the starting point for your project.

Enter your built-up area and select one of the six SR Buildcon packages to see an indicative construction estimate. All package rates are exclusive of GST.

Step 01

Enter the total proposed built-up area across all floors.

Step 02 — Select Construction Package

Compare package specifications

Step 03 — Indicative Construction Estimate

Enter your built-up area and select a package to view an indicative construction estimate.

This is an indicative construction estimate based on the entered built-up area and the selected SR Buildcon package. The final project cost is subject to approved drawings, site conditions, structural requirements, project scope, specifications and the executed project agreement. GST is additional as applicable.

Read The Estimate Correctly

An indicative estimate is not the final project quotation.

Project cost can be affected by matters such as those listed here, so the estimate is a starting point rather than a quotation.

  • Approved drawings
  • Structural requirements
  • Site conditions
  • Applicable approvals
  • Agreed specifications
  • Owner changes and upgrades
  • Work outside the selected package or scope

The final project scope, inclusions and exclusions are confirmed through the project documentation and agreement.

Specification First

The package rate only makes sense when you know what it specifies.

Each package level defines the materials, finishes and scope the rate is built around.

Built-up Area

Estimates follow the built-up area, not the plot size alone.

A plot of a given size can carry very different amounts of construction, depending on the number of floors, the planned layout and what is agreed for the project. The estimate therefore follows the construction area rather than the plot dimensions.

The applicable built-up area for quotation is established from the project drawings and agreed scope.

From Estimate To Quotation

Why the final quotation is more detailed.

Four things turn an indicative number into a project quotation.

  • DrawingsDefine what is actually being built.
  • SpecificationsDefine the construction and material level.
  • Site conditionsCan affect project requirements.
  • Agreed scopeDefines what is included and excluded.

Next Step

An estimate is the starting point. The project scope comes next.

When you are ready, the project discussion can begin with a few basics.

  • Plot location
  • Plot size
  • Planned floors
  • Expected built-up area
  • Preferred package or specification level
